Last summer, I spent two weeks in Italy with my best friend. We stayed in a small hotel by the sea. Every morning we went swimming and in the afternoons we visited different towns nearby. One day, we took a train to Florence. It was very hot, but we saw many beautiful buildings and famous paintings in the museums. Another day, we rented bicycles and cycled through the countryside, which was full of vineyards and small villages.

The food was amazing everywhere we went. We ate a lot of pasta and pizza, and of course we had delicious ice cream every day. In the evenings, we usually walked along the beach and listened to music at the cafés. We met some friendly local people who told us about Italian culture and traditions. They even taught us a few words in Italian, which was fun to practise.

At the end of the holiday, we felt sad to leave, but we had many great memories. I definitely want to go back to Italy in the future, maybe for longer next time!
